Nodeless.io Shuts Down Due to Investigation for Running 'Illegal Money Transmission' Business in Canada
Nodeless is an open-source and no-KYC payment router that makes it easy to accept bitcoin payments to self-custody through its API.
- "I knew this day would probably come, but didn't expect it so soon. I am being investigated for running an illegal money transmission business in Canada," posted @utxo on Nostr.
"Under the advice of my lawyers I need to shut down the main instance of it."
- "As you guys know I made Nodeless completely open source in the event that this happens, so that others who don't live under communism can run a honest, privacy focused payments business," he added.
- "To my clients who are using it, I'm very sorry for the short notice but you'll need to find a new payment processing solution this weekend."
- "DM me on Telegram and I will personally walk you through setting up a BTCPay Server instance that you can self host, or even your own instance of Nodeless."
"I can't give much more information than this, not even supposed to say this much, but I owe it to you guys to let you know what's going on."
